Matthew Cropper

Matthew Cropper has a broad background in Geographic Information Systems and demographic analysis. He recently received his professional GIS certification from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI). This certification is given to those who have proven to be well versed and experienced in the GIS profession, along with continuing to contribute to the field of Geospatial Sciences. The certification has rigorous requirements which include education, experience, and contributions to the field (publications and presentations). Only 1,016 out of hundreds of thousands of GIS professionals in multiple disciplines across the world possess this certification. Matt continues to explore new uses for GIS technology, and has published multiple articles and given presentations at industry conferences.

Matt has given presentations about current technology and educational planning at conferences across the country. He has been referred to as a pioneer in GIS in educational planning. His work experience includes the management of GIS projects for the six largest school districts in Ohio, including Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Toledo, along with GIS development for a facility master plan for the Country of Honduras. Matt is currently working on GIS projects in Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Delaware, New York, and Illinois.

In addition to facilitating master plans with GIS, Matt refined processes such as redistricting and land saturation analyses with GIS. His experience includes:
